What makes a great leader

During wananga time the year 9's have been working on leaders and what they are good at and what comes with being a leader and here is my opinion on what makes a great leader.

 These are some bullet points on what I think makes a leader and what an leader has.

What I think

What is the name of the song you you are going? The name of the song is when I look at you.

Who wrote the song? Miley Cyrus.

What is the song about? The song we are singing is about love.

Who is in your group? Addyson, Megan and I.

What is each person doing? We are all singing.

Which part of the song are you working on first? We are working on the first part of the song through to 1 minute and 30 seconds.

How do I feel about performing to the class for the first time? At first I thought to myself that it would be awkward but now I just think well if I cant perform in front of my class how am I going to perform who im older if I wanna be a singer so I changed what I was thinking and I said to myself that I can do it and that I gotta believe in myself so now im not as scared as I was at first.

In Coraline shots and angles are used effectively.

For example a long shot is used here to show the new house and all the mysterious things about it.

The director did this to give the movie watcher that there is going to be a lot going on in this house and in the woods behind it. The director also did this to picture things in our head to make us want to watch the movie more.

For example a close up shot is used here to show that Coralines father is not paying attention to her and focusing on his work more. The director did this to give us an idea that in the other world the other father focuses on her more often and can do more stuff with his life then sit on a chair and stare at a screen all day.

For example a long angle shot is used here to establish the scene. The director did this to give us an idea of the room and the things within it to show its quit fancy. This can be compared to the real world as its less fancy and that the food and lighting is better.

For example a long shot is used here to show that Coraline is on a mission to do something by the look on her face and the bravery. The director did this to make us want to know what was going to happen next and what could happen. The director also did this to bring us into the movie more.

Arthritis Research

 

In science we have been working on muscles and joints and a common thing on joints and muscles is Arthritis. something that could possibly destroy someones dream to do stuff depending on how bad it is. Here is a slide show I have made today about Arthritis.

Theme guide- Coraline

 Looks can be deceiving- In the movie Coraline it shows that at first the other mother looks nice loving and friendly but near the end she starts looking scratched up and evil and not the same and turns out shes trying to take Coraline's soul. The cat also seems scary and not nice but in the end it ends up helping her.

Be grateful for what you have- In the movie Coraline doesn't like her parents as much as a child should because they don't give her much attention and don't focus on her instead they focus on their jobs and don't normally care about what she does but then she meets her other mother and is so happy and starts to wish that it was her real family but then near the end her parents get captured and she has to free them  and the other mother starts to change then Coraline starts to think that she does like her old family and that she wants it back.

Don't be greedy- When Coraline meets the other mother she is happy and feels heard and starts to love it in the other world because shes now getting what she wants her new parents can cook and listen to her when she wants to be heard and she is also able to do more stuff and starts to be greedy but she doesn't realise the things her other parents/real parents do for her and she doesn't realise until they get captured and the other mother turns evil.

Instrument evaluation

This term for music we have been learning about instruments and how to play them.

I would probably say the one instrument I would want to learn more about and mostly enjoyed out of all instruments would be the piano.

I would say the most challenging instrument for me would be the guitar because of all the chord changes and also I didn't really understand how to play.

I would like to focus on the piano for the rest of this term because I think that it is interesting and its peaceful and in my future the piano would be very helpful as im wanting to make a career with my voice and become famous for my voice.

Maths and Speed

For the past few weeks we have been working on velocity and how it cross references maths and science.We used a paper plane to record data on distance, speed and time really enjoyed working with Mr Carter and the paper plane. In my group I have Shanarnia, Myself and Megan. I had fun making the paper plan and doing maths with friend.
