Crazy Crystals

Aim: To learn about a saturated solution and how to make crystals

Definition of solution
The meaning of solution is fixing a problem by solving it or dealing with a difficult situation.


Definition of saturated
The meaning of saturated is when something can't hold anymore liquid for example when it is raining and your very wet and water starts dripping that's because your clothes can't hold anymore water.

Materials

1) 1/2 cup of hot water
2) 2 teaspoons of borax
3) 1 peg
4) 3 pipe cleaners

Process

Step 1: Put 1/2 cup of hot water in your cup 
Step 2: put 2 teaspoons of borax in your cup but not at once ( mix your 1st teaspoon of borax softly until it is saturated then put the 2nd teaspoon of borax in the cup and make sure that it is all saturated.)
Step 3: get 1 peg (any type of peg.)
Step 4: get 3 pipe cleaners (small pipe cleaners.)
Step 5: make a star with your 3 pipe cleaners.
Step 6: dip your star in the cup and leave it for about 2 days.

Sugar Crystals

Grow your own Sugar Crystals

Materials

1) 8 Teaspoons Of Sugar 
2) 1/2 Cup Of Hot Water 
3) 1 Brown Pipe Cleaner
4) 1 Peg 
5) 1 Spoon 
6) 1 cup



Process

Step 1:Get 2 Teaspoons Of Sugar And Add It To A Cup 
Step 2: Add 1/2 Cup Of Hot Water To The Cup With The Sugar 
Step 3: Mix The Sugar And and hot water until it has dissolved 
Step 4: Get 1 Pipe Cleaner And A Peg And Put The Pipe Cleaner In The Peg 
Step 5: Put The Pipe Cleaner In The Water With Sugar
Step 6: Leave For 2 Days
Step 7: You Now Have Sugar Crystals


Salt Crystals

Materials


1) 2 Teaspoons Of Salt
2) 1 Pipe Cleaner
3) 1 Peg
4) Hot Water
5) 1 Spoon
6) 1/2 Cup


Process


Step 1: Get 2 Teaspoons Of Salt And Put It In A Cup
Step 2: Add Hot Water it the cup with the salt in it
Step 3: Mix The Water And Salt Until It Has Dissolved
Step 4:  Put The Pipe Cleaner In A Peg
Step 5: Put The Pipe Cleaner And Peg In The Cup
Step 6: Leave For 2 Days
Step 7: You Now Have Salt Crystals

What crystals worked out best and why?: 
The best one out of all of them was the borax because we put enough borax in the water but with the others we didn't put much.
