Average amount of fishing has mostly been illegal internationally, including protected fish and masse’s of those protected fish end up on our plates. Former workers in the past have reported that entire teams were enslaved and forced to work without wages.these workers sometimes get Abusive beatings and are forced to work until exhaustion are commonplace on certain ships. Certain workers in these situations are getting less sleep than needed and a lot of them are still children. Addition to all these things (illegal fishing) causes extreme damage to the ocean because environmental regulations are typically not followed.

The dolphin safe label was made to “protect the dolphins” even though it was a big fail. It was in compliance with the U.S laws and regulations of tuna fishing operations.
Yes there are ways of sustainable fishing for example in the Philippines of the Tagbauna people they sometimes use spears to fish (example down below)
Some people use a spear gun which in my opinion is less work in order to shoot at the fish that you are planning on catching.
Some other places go fishing for a certain fish each season of the year which means fish don’t overpopulate, go endangered or go extinct.
